She's baaaack!

Never one to slip quietly into a room, Kelis is baaack and wants everyone to know about it! As with every album she comes hard with a new look & sound so this time around is definately no different.

My verdict is a 7/10 something like a Lady Gaga & Rihanna remix. What do you think?

Long Time No Speak!

It has been a while since ive blogged ive been busy busy busy with uni projects, dance rehersals/shows and work! But after reading a few peoples blogs ive got the urge to pass thru!

This summer I started dancing again. Joined a group called Illusion which is basically a collective of about 14 female dancers. We do lots of styles from street to contemporary. Lots of fun!!

Our last performance was 29th November at Set4Set at the Batersea Arts Centre. Set4Set is basically a street dance competition where 20 dance crew get splist into pairs and are given a theme to base their set on and a dance style that has to be incorporated. A winner is chosen from each theme battle scoring points on things such as 'wow' factor, presentation, technique etc.. And there is also an overall winner (crew with the higher score overall).

My dance groups theme was Janet Jackson (yay!) and we went there looking to MERK! When I get the video footage for our performance I will blog more on the outcome of the night :)

The New York based clothing label Married To The Mob has recruited R&B starlet Teyana Taylor to front their Fall 09 collection.

The collection is casual & stylish. As always there is a nice selection of slogan and brand stamped "MOB" fitted tees alongside a range of shirt dresses, jackets, polos and skinny jeans.

What's the time Mr Wolf?!

The Alessi Daytimer, a cool new watch designed by Will Alsop & Frederico Grazzini. This geometrical design comes in 4 colours (Red, Green, Purple & Black) and the LED screen has 9 graphics which change throughout the day.

The set in screen enhances the 3D aesthetic of the design inspired by landscape and international architects.

The price of one of these is suposed to retail at around $120 which could work out to be roughly £70.
However they are not yet available to buy, the Aessi site (www.alessi-watches.com) simply states 'Available in July 2009' (DO THEY REALISE WE ARE HALF WAY INTO IN AUGUST 2009?!!)

That big hairy monster

I was just browsing through YouTube the other day and was watching a cartoon and the illustration imideately reminded me of an old cartoon- Muzzy!!

Now this was a language course for children made by the BBC. I had the French box set (back in the day of the VCR) which also came with the English translated version which I probably watched more than the French,lol

My favourite bit would be be when ever the lil line drawn man 'Norman' would pop up with his signiture music...ahh the good old days when the BBC made things to educate the youth now they decide to teach... "Eh Oh"

Ironically today after seeing the trailer for 'Good Hair' I see this 'Light skin vs Dark skin' documentary trailer!

Personally I believe light skin is no better than dark skin because ive seen some busted lighties and same for the darkies...lol

The directors of this film have got the most arrogant light skin chicks (Notice how they are the only ones using the word n*gga) and the 'Dark skin' chicks aren't even that dark in my opinion from what the trailer shows.

So what do you think...

A while back there was a BBC3 documentry presented by UK singer Jamelia called 'Who's hair is it anyway?' touching on the issue of hair exstensions and all that...was quite boring. Alie?

I stumbled upon this video yesterday for the film documentry 'Good Hair' I'ts basically Chris rock taking a look into the world of a black women and their hair.

Any issue touching on black beauty im interested so this is getting added onto list of 'Must see films of '09'!
